Katrina Volunteers Work in Mississippi
Since Hurricane Katrina devastated the U.S. Gulf Coast in August 2005, Ardmore volunteers have participated on seven disaster relief teams, six of them in Moss Point, Mississippi. Frequently, Ardmore volunteers team with workers from other churches in the Winston-Salem area, including Moravian, Presbyterian, Baptist and other United Methodist churches.
Ardmore’s eighth work team trip to the Gulf Coast is scheduled in late January and early February 2008. Around 10 volunteers are expected to make the trip. Expenses for volunteers are covered by gifts from the congregation.
