Congregational Care

The Congregational Care Committee's purpose is to provide spiritual sustenance to church members and thus empower them to go into the community to minister to others.   The committee meets bimonthly and develops programs that will promote spiritual growth.

-- Through the Congregational Care Committee, a prayer chain, a prayer group, and a system for sending postcards to people who are on our prayer lists have been instituted.

-- The WAY is a group of persons who monitor church attendance and make contact with those who are missing and may be in need of ministry.

-- The Older Visitation Ministry is a group of persons who visit homebound members of our church.  They meet monthly to share reports and exchange names.

-- The Congregational Care Committee plans meet-and-greet events for new members so that they may get acquainted with church members and have a forum for questions and concerns.

-- The Congregational Care Committee sponsors retreats and book studies, some on-site and others away from the church, as well as encourages the formation of small groups for study, prayer, and fellowship.

-- A devotional guide for Christmastide is written by Congregational Care Committee members and other church members, and is available to all the week before Christmas.

As we continue to nurture the congregation, we hope our contact with people beyond the church will increase. Christ calls us to go into the world and preach the Gospel;  the Congregational Care Committee hopes to enable others to do that.
